About ACM

The Convention on Biological Diversity(CBD)came into effect in 1993 and its objectives are:
1)the conservation of biological diversity,
2)the sustainable use of its components,
3)the fair and equitable sharing of benefit arising out of the utilization of genetic resources。
The convention stipulates the sovereign right over their genetic resources of providing countries, also the need for prior informed consent and fair and equitable benefit-sharing arising out of the utilization of genetic resources。
Therefore, the role of Biological资源中心,which assumes preservation, management and distribution of microbial resources, has become more important in facilitating smooth access to genetic resources overseas well as as mitigating risks in the utilization。

NITE established“Microbial Resources(Microbial Resources,Microbial Resources,Microbial Resources,Microbial Resources,Microbial Resources,Microbial Resources,Microbial ResourcesACM)”in2004with participation of 12Asian countries。Currently,28organizations in15countries/area are the members of the ACM。

ACMholds an annual meeting in which information exchange with researchers in the field of microbiology and representatives of governmental organizations concerning the utilization of biological resources in Asia. The ACM aims to strengthen the relationship among Asian countries/area as well as to encourage and facilit interationbiotechnology in which biological resources in Asia are utilized。
